I survived Halloween Scream park Manila!
I bought a ticket first week of November to try out the Scream park in time for my Birthday (November 26th) we're scheduled to go last 28th of November but the site stated that they're not gonna be open until the first week of December, My friend and I were one of those few unfortunate peeps who lined up at the gates of the park last 30th of November . We are happy though since our ticket got upgrade from a regular 650.00 pesos ticket, to a VIP all access ticket worth 1500.00++ pesos that time. Since the park did not open that time, we opt to give it another chance.. we decided to go last Saturday, 28th of December (a month after our original schedule.
Enough of the drama, let's get down to business.
It is quite recommended that you bring an extra shirt or a towel as you'll get all sweaty after the maze. it's a bit hot inside the haunted mansion, but who cares? you'll barely notice it since you'll be busy looking everywhere for a zombie that might jump in front of you, enough to make you pee inside your pants. L.O.L.
An extra shirt will also be handy in case a scared friend of your accidentally rip your shirt out of panic. In my case my hoodie shirt almost turn into a ragged one right after the maze.
Monday to Friday they are open from 6:00PM to 2:00AM, but on Sundays they have an early schedule of 12:00NN
We arrived at exactly 6:00PM but according to the staff they will open the gates at 6:30PM.
if you are a VIP pass holder, you'll have a priority line starting from the gate. We didn't have to wait in line just to get inside, few VIP holders too that night. *soooo lucky*

Yay! finally we're inside!
Since we won't have any trouble about lining up, we roam around the place first before going to the Haunted Mansion: we went to the right side of the park first while everyone scurry to the left.
and here's what we found:
An area for food stalls, ranging from Snow cones to Shawarma and BBQs
Playing grounds: Target shooting, hoop balls and many more.
A flying fiesta type of ride is also being constructed. I guess this will be a separate fee, just
like one part of the park *later you'll read about it*
This is the area where the "Bar behind the Church Facade" is located and the concert ground is.
( though we didn't have a chance to see if there were any bands performing that night as we went home early. )
The concert ground. shot taken from the Bar.
The Bar: VIP holders will get 2 beers each ticket or one round of soda.
and they only offer San Mig light and Coke products.
Okay, so that's pretty much the right side of the park offers, so we went to the left where the Haunted Mansion is situated. Line is building up, but since the VIP tickets saves us some trouble we still manage to be the 2nd and 3rd person in line, we even managed to be part of the first four peeps to enter the Mansion that night.
before you enter the mansion, you'll have to walk by the Old town road, a Vigan inspired alley where you have to evade all the zombies up ahead before you reach the Baggage counter where you will leave your bag, lighter and cigarettes, and phones... yeah phones. You're not allowed to bring your phone and take pictures inside:
Don't get too comfortable when you reach the Baggage counter, as the zombies will follow you even inside the counter.
after depositing our things, we were directed to the Mansion's door.
since we are only two, the first two peeps in the VIP lane we're included on our wave, (I'm not really sure how I got to be the first to enter the door when I'm third on the line. shhesssh.
Don't get too comfy as when you enter the Mansion it will be PITCH DARK and QUIET and reall, Im clueless on where to go and what to do as it looks like a welcome hall of a normal old mansion house. ( and I can't see anything) until...
*fast forward*
you have to go and experience it yourself if you want t know how scary the place is, one things for sure...
even if your the toughest from your group; you will encounter one type of zombie that will make you scream your lungs out.
I know, since I was just laughing and grinning and joking around until I saw this creepy looking zombie that made me think " Uh-oh. David Willis, you did a great job." before a I realize I have to run, (hell do I care about those three peeps I'm with; eat them first you damn zombie! )
after a long walk on the mansion, you will be asked if you want to continue to the cemetery open ground (another short maze) or you can take a pee. Restroom is just after Sadako's well.
For me, Scream park's Sadako is not scary at all. I can't help but notice her perfectly re-bonded hair.
It's like she just came out a Salon or something. heehee.
The Cemetery open ground is a little bit mild than Mansion (probably to let people catch their breath after going ballistic inside the Mansion); it's an open ground but be wary as zombies will come out of nowhere, when you least expect it and they will follow you around.
after that, we just chilled in the Bar/Entertainment area, ate some light snack and play some quick games.
There's a park ride (I think its called "Campo Santo" ) that has a separate payment (50.00 pesos each) that will let you get inside another short 5-7 minutes horrifying walk; mostly consists of mechanical scares ( but there's also some zombies inside); unlike on Haunted Mansion, you can take pictures inside. I didn't bother taking pictures though. you will find yourself beside the baggage counter right after you finish the trail.
here's some of the cool zombies you'll encounter inside the park:
VIP ticket holders will get an ID lace as a souvenir, though some claims that it should be a Shirt
that was promised to be given to VIP ticket holders.
The Souvenir shop: situated where you line up for the Haunted Mansion; perfect timing to browse and buy while your friend line up for you. haha.
TIPS and TRICKS:
- You can take pictures with Zombies walking around the place, at the Old road, with Sadako and her well, inside the Campo Santo ride. be sure to snap one for remembrance!
- Bring shirt and towel, It's gonna be like your nightmare fun run after all.
- Bring along a friend or two, so you can shove them to any zombies you don't like and run for your life. kiddin'
- VIP open ticket holders, try to go to the scream park when the Asylum, the Haunted train and the rest of the rides are all fully operational. you'll feel the use of those VIP tix by that time.
- It will be recommended for you to go there late January or February as some rides are still being constructed.
That's basically it. I did not have another try of the Haunted Mansion as my friend is already traumatized and I'm not that brave to enter it alone. Definitely I'll be going back once the asylum and the rest of the rides are all open.
Any brave souls, you can visit Scream parks FB page for further details:
